Heckmondwike firm Consultant Services Group Ltd are bucking the credit crunch by having one of their most successful Christmas periods in their 40 year history.
Several new contracts approaching £½ million - have been awarded or commenced in the December period - a 150% increase on the same period last year.
Being a family run company - working in the service sector with it’s two subsidiaries - Consultant Cleaners Ltd and Consultant Caterers Ltd - CSG appreciate the need to offer ‘value for money’ - combined with excellent service levels including cost saving initiatives to both current and prospective clients. This success has been attributed to the company’s aggressive recession busting initiatives.
Company Chairman, Keith Midgley, has seen CSG through previous recessions in the company’s 40 year history and stated, “Think that you can and you will has always been a CSG motto and has served us well during many years when we have experienced the ups and downs caused by former recessions”.
Keith also strongly believes that ‘what works against you can work for you’ and in difficult times we should always concentrate on directing our operations towards cost conscious savings for all our clients both current and future.
Instead of shying away from investing within the company, CSG has done the exact opposite and is currently undertaking a complete revamp of its corporate image. This includes the 100 strong vehicle fleet that now have stunning new graphics clearly depicting the range of services offered together with the launch of a new company website.
Chief Executive Simon Midgley said “In these trying times the policy we have adopted is that of progress. No one can afford to be caught standing still. Image is important and we have brought ours right into the 21st century and our clients appreciate this. We have always re invested heavily in the company and due to the media explosion we’ve seen in the last 10 years we know that to be seen and seen in the right way is crucial”.
Combined with the company’s unusual knack of operational, office and sales staff retention the company can truly claim its ‘based on family values’ approach to business.
“We do what we can for those clients that may be struggling at the moment and offer best value assessments to our prospective clients right from the word go to make sure we structure our services to best suit the requirements both now and in the future” added Simon who has spent his entire working life within the firm.
“Our clients rely on us for some of the most basic fundamental requirements to keep their business running and their employees happy through the good times and the bad. Nobody wants to work in a dirty environment and hungry staff are grumpy staff. So expect to see a big birthday celebration next November when we celebrate both our 40th birthday and hopefully some light at the end of the recession tunnel.”
