Case Study - Catering & Cleaning
Although the first appointment was initially to discuss catering, having given them an overview of our portfolio of services the client was impressed that we could encompass both Cleaning and Catering as ‘cleaning was something that needed to be looked at.’ They liked the fact that after our initial first visit we were able to arrange for one of our Cleaning Sales Consultants to visit within the same week to conduct a thorough site survey.
During the tender process we were up against a mixture of companies, both big and small independents, as well as one of the multi-nationals.
Throughout the evaluation process, which encompassed a full presentation of both services and the chance to visit other local business that we operate, we were awarded both the Catering and Cleaning contracts.
We had a four month lead in period which gave us time to fine tune our implementation plans ensuring that all TUPE regulations were met, and that risk assessments and training plans were all in place ready for the launch date early January 2009. We even did a desk drop to every employee the week before we opened with their very own ‘Welcome Pack’.
Training was particularly important and we found that the staff responded well to being communicated and consulted with. As a result we have a happy, more motivated team of staff on site that as a consequence have embraced our new ideas and innovations.
It’s an ongoing relationship that we continue to develop. It’s not just about the ‘day to day’ catering and cleaning, although we recognise the importance of never resting on our laurels as we have recently launched an ‘essentials bar’ selling impulse items bagged sweets, newspaper and magazines etc. It’s all about keeping the services fresh and bringing in new products and preventing menu fatigue!
We can also rise to the challenge when it comes to ‘thinking out of the box.’ This was put to the test when we organised the catering at the company’s Fun Day in the summer of 2009 – which consisted of a full on barbeque catering for all employees and invited guests! Even the weather behaved! That was the final ‘CSG touch’ and was the icing on the cake! Ok we can’t actually take the credit for the weather – but when it comes to Catering and Cleaning services we have it nailed!!
