There can be many reasons why a company will consider changing their cleaning contractor - one of these reasons may be the operatives on site.
Due to government legislation any contract awarded means that the staff at the new site are protected by law and have the right to transfer, which in some cases can leave clients thinking, ‘what’s the point?’
CCL adopt BICS standards (British Institute of Cleaning Science) across the board which coupled with the correct equipment and supplies to carry out the required tasks and above all to provide support to our operatives gives us what we believe are the ingredients to improve moral, service and standards.
Evans Halshaw Stoke is a site that was being let down by their previous contractor. Supplies were sparse, electrical equipment was defective and the operatives felt let down and unappreciated.
Consultant Cleaners Ltd were successful in gaining the contract and from the very beginning worked closely with the client to agree a cleaning schedule to suit their requirements. The mandatory meetings were arranged with the operatives during the implementation period to advise them of their TUPE rights and potential changes. This included how we would train and support them during this time of change and into the future.
On commencement of the contract a start up audit was completed to highlight any problem areas and ascertain the training schedule required. This included receiving BICS training from the operations department, support from our Area Manager and being provided with the correct supplies and electrical equipment. The cleaners then followed the agreed cleaning schedule and one month on, a second audit was completed to gauge whether the standards had improved or if further training would be required.
I am pleased to say that the operatives working on this site have proved to be “Diamonds in the Rough”. They had recognized that improvements were required but were unable to facilitate this due to the lack of products, support and training offered by their previous employer.
Such has been the transformation on this site the operatives working here have been awarded our ‘Cleaners of the Month’ for July, in recognition of their hard work and dedication to their roles at Evans Halshaw, Stoke.
On being presented their awards, Cleaning Supervisor, Stacey Hambleton & Cleaning Operative, Sue Barrass said “since transferring to CSG we have been a lot happier. We have all the correct supplies and equipment and the support and training we have received has been excellent. We really do feel appreciated.”
Dealer Principal, Marc Robinson, said of the awards “Great news for the girls - I’m pleased to say that the quality of the overall cleaning of the dealership since you took the contract on has definitely improved”.
