Case Study - Vending - Office Facilities

Our relationship began towards the beginning of 2009 when the Project Manager, Kevin, received a telephone call from our telesales department.  He asked for further information on our services to be emailed with a link to the web site.  Kevin liked what he saw … and the rest as they say is history!

An initial meeting was held at our head offices in April 2009. Kevin was keen to meet with us and discuss the options available for the supply of catering and vending services for their new office facility that was due to be completed in September 2009.

We soon established that their current facilities were minimal. The company provided free tea and coffee to their employees, this was proving to be a costly exercise coupled with the ongoing need for dishwashing facilities for the many mugs and cups that were used during the course of the day. It was also felt that this facility was abused by the employees and that there was no control over the area and it was very time consuming.

Having sampled “The Big One” and the comprehensive range of drinks that it delivered, Kevin was very impressed with the quality and range offered and felt this would be the ideal solution for the beverage provision. The vending option would be a more cost effective and efficient way of providing the drinks to their employees and would meet the needs and expectations in terms of quality and taste.

We prepared a number of proposals to deliver a fully managed food and beverage offer and arranged for a food demonstration at our head office showroom. Kevin was accompanied by the HR Manager and the Finance Director.

We showcased the comprehensive range of Premier Food Vending and encouraged them to try all the dishes that we had, from a full English breakfast, to Chicken Tikka Masala, Fish and Chips, the very popular Yorkshire tradition – Pie and Peas, Filled Jackets, Salads, Sandwiches, Paninis and Hot Sandwiches - all washed down with several drinks from the Big One!!  The general opinion was that this would be the ideal solution to provide a food and beverage offer supported by snacks, cans and bottles vended through the Rondo snack merchandiser.
The next stage was to convince the workforce - so we arranged a food demonstration over the lunch period at their existing premises and we scheduled for each section of the workforce to come and sample the extensive range of food and complete a questionnaire.

The food was well received by the employees and we had some very positive comments, confirming to the management team that this was the desired option. After a number of subsequent meetings and discussion we agreed on the service provision and associated costs.

In November all the equipment was installed and the service successfully launched and has been very well received.

We will continue to develop the service, there is an additional requirement for the ground floor that is not currently occupied but will be from March 2010 and we are constantly reviewing the range of food for the chilled food vendors to meet the demands of the customers.

Establishing good working relationships and our flexibility and ability to bespoke our services were key to the success of this partnership.
