Fab Forty Day at CSG! - November 2009
At 11 o'clock on Wednesday 4th November 2009 all head office staff were gathered with bated breath, waiting for the Company Directors to begin drawing the Top Five prizes in celebration of 40 fantastic years in business.
As Simon read the description of the fifth prize an excited “WHOOOOOO” swept round the room. Everybody in the company with five years service or more had the opportunity of winning the top five prizes - the first prize being the brand new Ford Fiesta Econetic.
By the time it came to drawing the first prize the room was electric and a round of applause cascaded around the room as the details were announced.
Simon Midgley, Chief Executive Officer, drew the ticket and everybody held their breath, "the car goes to Joanne Dickinson, Route Vending Services," declared Simon.
Joanne was at that very moment filling one of our vending machines in Wakefield. On being told the news Joanne didn't believe what she was hearing and it was only when Simon took the phone and confirmed the news that she accepted that she'd won, repeating over and over, "I don't believe it"
After all the excitement a short break for a drink and some birthday cake was taken in order for the second draw of 35 further prizes to take place. This included all employees in the company with more than two years service.
The whole event was accompanied by whoops and cheers as each prize was announced. The entire event was a major success and as you will see from the diversity of the winners, every part of the company seemed to win a prize, from cleaners to vending route drivers to caterers working out on site and cleaning engineers.
A huge thank you goes out to our suppliers who helped support the event with very generous donations and to the Directors of CSG who, in a time of recession had the where with all to initiate a celebration that would improve the moral of its staff, in a time when things are hard across the whole of country, and be remembered for years to come as a great day for all concerned .. but especially the lucky 40.
