Lancashire Police catering staff 'Highly Commended' - April 2009

Catering Staff at two different locations within the Lancashire Police Authority have been commended for their outstanding contributions recently.

The first was on the 19th March 2009 when school children with learning difficulties visited Morecambe Police Station.  The children looked around all departments, including the cell area and were made to feel especially welcome by Sue and Carol who were on duty in the canteen.

Community Support Officer, Cliff Riley, said “Some of the children had been going through bad times recently and to come to a place like this, Morecambe Police Station, meet people like ourselves and the canteen ladies to make such a fuss over them, really did make their day.  On behalf of the children, their teachers at Morecambe Road School and, of course us, could you please give a big thank you to Sue and Carol.”

The second has been given to Alistair Prescott, Business Manager at Lancashire Police Training Centre, Hutton Hall.

The Senior Management Team at the Training Centre has decided that once a year the Learning and Development Department will present commendations to recognise members of staff who have made outstanding contributions to new initiatives within the Training Centre.

Alistair’s award is for ‘ensuring the provision of an uninterrupted catering service during the asbestos removal and reinstatement project in the Lancastria Building’

A formal presentation and buffet lunch will take place on Monday 18th May 2009.

Many congratulations to everyone.
