Local Children's Ward Easter surprise
The Children’s Ward at Dewsbury District Hospital had a treat in store on Thursday 9th April as local company - Consultant Services Group – continued their 40th Anniversary celebrations - and arrived with Easter Eggs for everybody including the hard working staff on the ward. They also brought along the ‘Easter Bunny’ and helpers to distribute the eggs to the lucky recipients.
Katie Field, Play Specialist at the hospital said, “Nothing like this has ever been done before and we really appreciate the time and effort CSG have put into making the visit a success.”
Dave Dunning from CSG stated “The idea came in reply to an email that was sent round the company asking for ideas on how we could celebrate our 40th Anniversary in November this year. The Board of Directors had already suggested having several events throughout the year as an excellent way to celebrate this fantastic achievement. As a local company employing approximately 2000 staff – many of whom live locally – we wanted to do something for the local community.”
As well as being a contract cleaning company specialising in daily cleaning and support services - CSG also provide catering and vending services and through their excellent relationship with suppliers had the Easter eggs donated from Mars.
The company announced that they would match the value of eggs donated plus the proceeds of a company Easter Raffle and the cheque was presented by Simon Midgley, Chief Executive Officer to Sarah who said, “We really do appreciate the donation to help make the patients time in hospital a more interesting and happy time.”
Gary Fisher, Operations Director from CSG said, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff for their brilliant ideas for our on going anniversary celebrations - especially the volunteers who made the ‘Easter Bunny’ visit to the hospital possible. We would also like to thank all the hard working staff on the Children’s Ward at Dewsbury District Hospital for allowing the visit to take place and for being such good sports.
Our intention is to hold two further events later in the year the ‘finale’ being on our actual anniversary in November.”
